Lecturer profileOn qualification in Cardiff, 1991, I worked as a house officer in the oral medicine and prosthetic departments of the hospital before entering general practice and then the community dental service as a vocational trainee. I continued as a community dental officer whilst working part-time as an associate in general practice. Following a year travelling I entered general practice as a full-time associate. As time progressed, I took various roles including clinical supervisor, lecturer, postgraduate tutor, and speciality doctor in restorative dentistry. I also gained further qualifications including a diploma in postgraduate dental studies, certificate in medical education and a Master of laws. In 2010 I took up the role of training programme director for the longitudinal foundation dental scheme, based at the teaching unit in Port Talbot, South Wales, where I remained until 2016 when I joined the dental defence Union as a Dento-Legal advisor.
