| Lecturer profile | I started my working life as a dentist in England and have more than 35 years’ experience in dentistry. In 2005 I bought my own dental practice and over the years I transformed it into a thriving private practice which I then sold in 2018. Throughout my career, friends and colleagues sought me out to discuss their challenges in their careers and lives. I was told that they valued my insights which helped them gain confidence in themselves and helped them grow personally and professionally.
Running a business whilst trying to raise a young family was a constant juggle which I struggled with. I was coached and inspired to believe in myself. I am now trained as a Leadership Coach and Mentor (CMI Level 7) and have since written articles about coaching and mentoring in dentistry in the British Dental Journal.
I now coach and mentor business owners from other backgrounds, including e-commerce and the retail sector. My skills include identifying possibilities and opportunities. My broad experience in the healthcare sector gives me a deep understanding about customer satisfaction and I use this to help businesses grow and to motivate team members.
