Lecturer profileMr Alan Woodman, GDC 42990, is a Specialist in Periodontics who was invested as a Fellow of the International College of Dentists in 1999 in recognition of his services to periodontology. After graduating from King’s College London in 1968, Alan worked in general practice in the UK and New Zealand, followed by 16 years in the Royal Naval Dental Service. During that time he completed a Masters degree in periodontics, gaining a Distinction. Since then he has devoted most of his time to periodontics both as a clinician and a teacher, within the RN Dental Service, as a lecturer at the Eastman Dental Hospital, in specialist practice and now at the University of Portsmouth Dental Academy.
