Lecturer profileJim (James) has been the principal dentist at Emsworth Dental Surgery since March 2008. He qualified in 1998 from Bristol Dental School and completed his Foundation training in Bristol. Following this he spent two years at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth as a surgical senior house officer gaining experience in all aspects of oral surgery. It was while at Plymouth that Jim gained his membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery. The next year was spent in the Personal Dental Service which was a community based position serving the dental needs of inner city Bristol. Jim spent a further seven years as a general dental practitioner working both in Bristol and Wellington, Somerset.

The practice has grown considerably over the past eight years and Jim was appointed as an Educational Supervisor in 2010. Jim is a General Dental Practioner with an interest in oral surgery and occlusion (how our teeth bite together). This complex subject is very relevant to treating muscular pain around the jaws and certain types of headache.
