Basic Life Support and Medical Emergencies are stated as compulsory CPD N.B.: This is NOT a ‘hands on’ session. Also ensure you have yearly ‘hands on’ basic life support training.

  1. To increase the confidence of DCP’s when recognising and acting on a medical emergency.
  2. To increase & update current knowledge that is needed to treat & manage the medical emergencies that could arise in the dental surgery.
  3. To recognise when a medical emergency is occurring & deal with it effectively & be familiar with the legal issues involved.
  4. Be able to list the medical conditions that may arise and describe the symptoms.
