Description | Interactive evidence-based hands-on Oral Surgery training for GDPs & dentists with a special interest in Minor Oral Surgery- an opportunity for dentists to learn and practise the principles and techniques of dentoalveolar surgery performed in daily practice. This is Day 2 of three standalone days of intensive hands on training on sheep heads. It is not necessary to attend all 3 days, but ideally you would have already attended Day 1 and the Oral Surgery webinar on 30th June or Tuesday September 8th 2020. If not, YOU MUST please contact the Tutor nicola.spillane@hee.nhs.uk to discuss your prior learning and eligibility to attend this course, BEFORE YOU BOOK. Other modules: Day 1 (held 23/11/20): Basic concepts, including incisions, suturing and flap design, extraction of teeth, elevation of roots; haemostasis. Day 3 is on 25/01/21: Soft tissue management: biopsy, crown lengthening, management of flaps. NB Next DAY 1 (provisional) is Tuesday 16/03/2021. |
Additional information | Dr Kashif Hafeez has Membership and Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland, a Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, and a post graduate certificate in Medical and Dental education from Oxford Brookes. Kashif has a special interest in Oral Surgery and Dental Implantology, and is in practice in the Cotswolds. He has been a post graduate Dental Foundation trainer for Oxford Deanery and is a current Examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland & the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh). Kashif acts as an expert & advisor to the General Dental Council UK. He teaches Oral surgery and Implantology at the Masters programme of BPP University, and lectures nationally and internationally on Oral surgery & Dental Implantology, including presenting his scientific work at various international conferences. In addition, Kashif serves as Editorial Board member for Porodental CPD and is a visiting Oral surgery Professor in Pakistan. He has a number of international publications. In 2013, he was honoured with the Dentist of the year award by APPS UK. |
