AvailabilityCourse has taken place
SubjectOrthodontics
DescriptionThis two-hour session is aimed at helping the general dental practitioner to assess a patient’s orthodontic treatment need using the Dental Health Component (DHC) of the Index of Orthodontic Treatment Need (IOTN). Classification of a patient into the appropriate IOTN DHC category requires just a routine dental examination supplemented by simple intra-oral measurements. The theory behind the practical application will be clearly explained, and participants will have the opportunity to grade example cases.
Additional informationIOTN must be used now to assess the need and eligibility of children under 18 years of age for NHS orthodontic treatment on dental health grounds. These regulations will be discussed. The session will finish with a look at the use and performance of the Hampshire Orthodontic Referral Centre.

The course will be lively and interactive and will provide guidance for best practice.

This course is suitable for General Dental Practitioners.
