Aims
  1. At the End of the Course Participants will be able to:- Outline the concepts of radiation dose and the factors that affect doses received by patients and staff in a dental practice. Update administrative and technical policies for radiation protection within their practices.
  2. Outline the biological effects of ionising radiation and the concepts of stochastic and deterministic effects.
  3. State and discuss the ICRP principles of radiation protection and describe appropriate practical dose limitation measures in a dental practice.
  4. Give an account of the main legal duties and responsibilities placed on GDP’s by IRR99 and IR(ME)R 2000.
