SubjectPaediatric Dentistry
DescriptionDeprivation has a profound impact in the early years and these inequalities persist - from childhood to adulthood and into older age. Rates of tooth decay for children and young people living in the most deprived communities are nearly 3.5 times that of those living in the most affluent. BOB ICB has launched a Child Focused Dental Practice scheme to provide early intervention and promote community prevention for the 0-5 year olds living in these areas. This training is designed to enable members of the dental team working in these practices to start delivery under the scheme and form a network for future support and to enable oversight of the programme.
