Aims

The aims, objectives and learning outcomes are:

Know what the various deductions on your payslip mean.

Understand how their payslips are broken down and become familiar with the deductions made for PAYE employees.

Know how the calculation of your tax liability is carried out.

Objectives
  • Be able to describe the benefits of the NHS pension / super annuation schemes
  • Be aware of the importance of financial records, during the DFT year, for tax purposes
  • Know what the current tax brackets are.
  • Understand why it may be wise to have an accountant who specialises in dentistry.
