Description | This short lunchtime course will be delivered via MS Teams Webinar. Dental professionals play an essential role in safeguarding; we are trained to recognise signs of abuse in patients and act accordingly to preserve our patients’ safety. The focus of this presentation is to highlight the importance of dental professionals learning how to create a safe space for patients and colleagues to ask for support if they are experiencing domestic abuse. The aim is to make a systematic change in the way this issue is handled in the UK, including in dentistry. GDC outcomes A & D. | ||
Additional information | Preetee Hylton is a dental nurse and a Safeguarding Lead at The No.8 Partnership in Chelsea, London and the President of the British Association of Dental Nurses (BADN). She is a dental nursing tutor at the Dental Nursing Academy and is an Associate Examiner with the NEBDN. She qualified in 2010 and proceeded to gain her post-registration qualification in dental radiography, PTLLS qualification and oral health education qualification. She has authored various articles and lectures at numerous dental conferences and shows. She is passionate about raising awareness on the impacts of domestic abuse and advocates tirelessly to raise the profile of dental nurses in the dental industry. *This webinar is suitable for the entire practice team, will be delivered via MS Teams and an email with joining instructions will be sent to you at least 24 hours before the course starts.
