1. To reduce the occurrence of infectious diseases in the dental surgery, and to provide clarity about working within the CQC guidelines.

Objectives

Objectives:

1. To explain the stages of the decontamination process as identified in the HTM 01-05 guidance document and discuss safe management of healthcare waste in the dental sector.

2. To examine the HTM 01-05 guidance document and discuss how key environmental legislation applies to dentistry.

3. To provide information and advice on how the Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulates and inspects health and social care services, setting out the principles and the new operating model.

4. To consider the impact on dental services.
