Aims

Aim of the Forum - The forum has been set up to give dental nurses an ability to network and have support for wellbeing plus be empowered to progress and further their career.

The aim of this course is to develop the learner's ability to recognise, assess and manage medical emergencies - adults and paediatrics - in the primary care dental setting and will help familiarise the Dental Nurses with the contents of the drug box and emergency equipment.

Objectives

To outline the emergency drugs and equipment that should be held by dental surgeries.

To explain the team approach to medical emergencies in relation to emergency dental drugs.

Learning outcomes

Identify how to prepare and administer - where appropriate to your role - emergency drugs correctly.

Facilitate a team approach to medical emergencies so as to deal promptly with uncommon but potentially tragic events.
