Description | This evening is entirely devoted to Dental Nurses and Student Dental Nurses. These monthly meetings have been set up for Dental Nurses in the south region (Ox/Bucks/Berks/Hamps/I.O.W) to aid networking, sharing ideas through open discussion, support wellbeing and empower Dental Nurses to progress and further their career if they wish to do so. This will be delivered via MS Teams Webinar. There will be an hour's CPD, following this will be an open forum and peer review discussion chaired by our guest speaker Stephanie Carter and the facilitating Tutor. This evening takes a look at extended duties available to dental nurses. The course aims to empower dental nurses to progress and further their career. GDC Outcome B. | ||
Additional information | Stephanie Carter is trained in business, management, and leadership, with 20 years of dedicated experience within the dental industry in a variety of roles. Stephanie is a holder of a Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training, and is a member of the Faculty of Dental Trainers in Edinburgh. Her qualifications include dental nurse, dental hygienist / therapist, level 4 quality assurer, level 3 assessor and ILM Level 7 in Strategic Leadership and Management. Aims | The course aims to empower dental nurses to progress and further their career by looking at the role the dental nurse currently has in dental practice, and discusses ways in which extended duties can be used to the benefit of patients, the team and themselves. | ||
Objectives | To discuss the potential for career development and extended duties available to dental care professionals. The benefits a dental nurse can bring to a practice, how they can be utilized and how they can promote themselves and the role. To outline common barriers dental nurses may face, and how to overcome these. | ||
Learning outcomes | Delegates will be confident in the role of a Dental Nurse and the benefits one can bring to the dental team. Delegates will have an increased knowledge in the ways a Dental Nurse can be utilized and how this could be implemented. Delegates will be able to confidently engage in conversations with both the dental team and patients to explain the role and the benefits of a Dental Nurse, increasing their confidence to overcome common barriers faced when working in practice. | ||
