To distinguish between pulpal health and disease and identify conditions that may require treatment or onward referral

To be able to perform non-surgical root canal treatment on single and multi-rooted teeth

To understand the principles and techniques of endodontic re-treatment and when to refer

To recognize the indications for periradicular surgery and when to refer
