| Objectives | DFT interactive small group teaching to facilitate the following learning objectives - |
| Learning outcomes | Learning Outcome 1 Recognise the need for and request the relevant clinical laboratory and diagnostic tests when appropriate, and liaise with appropriate personnel to acquire an accurate interpretation and record of the results. Learning Outcome 2 Generate a different diagnosis and treatment/management plan based on evidence through the correct interpretation of clinical findings. Remove carious tooth structure in preparation for restoration, using techniques which minimise unnecessary tooth damage and pulpalinjury. Learning Outcome 3 Restore carious teeth to form, function and appearance using a wide range of restorative materials. Determine patients’ dentofacial aesthetic requirements, identify the degree to which they can be met, discuss the different options, and manage patient expectations. Learning Outcome 4 Understand which items treatment fall within NHS regulations* and those which do not, and can discuss the consequences of this with the patient in a manner he or she can understand. *Relevant to the location/country of training. |
