Aims

The aim of this course is to improve learners' skills and confidence in crown and bridge preparation, so as to improve clinical outcomes for patients.

Objectives

The course objectives are:

  1. to describe and discuss the preparation design of crowns and bridgework
  2. to provide specialist tips, including how to avoid common pitfalls.
  3. to practice  the hands-on preparation of 6 units
  4. to receive individual feedback on the hands-on preparations
  5. to demonstrate how to analyse the quality of impressions using a digital diagnostic process
Learning outcomes

By the end of this course, learners should be able to

1. describe the principles of crown and bridge design

2. analyse the quality of impressions using a digital diagnostic process to improve the quality of crowns to patients.

3. perform the preparation of crowns and bridgework to evidence- based clinical standards 

 

Laptops/ notepads for note-taking will capture your thoughts from the aims of the course to prompt reflective learning .


Please bring spectacles/loupes for crown preparation and burs you normally use to prepare teeth for crowns in order to maximise the benefit of the teaching.
