| Learning outcomes | To ensure appropriate clinical support is available to newly qualified graduates (DF1 trainees) and to identify areas where trainees may need targeted follow up training in their practice. To help trainees to be comfortable with peer review and to help them objectively identify specific individual learning needs All trainees(and TPDs) to carry out a range of standardized basic operative procedures routinely undertaken in general practice, on plastic teeth mounted in a dental manikin. (One bonded crown preparation on an upper premolar tooth, one repair of a pre-prepared class IV cavity with a composite resin restoration on an upper incisor tooth and one class II cavity and amalgam restoration on an upper molar tooth (may need to cut two cavities and only fill one?) TPDs and trainees to systematically review each others’ work and give constructive feedback Trainees to develop an individual written learning plan to share with their trainer and TPD, including how their progress will be measured After feedback received: To know how to better prepare an interproximal amalgam restoration ,To know how to better restore a class IV composite, To know how to better prepare a bonded porcelain crown | ||
