| Description | A whole day course focusing on treatment modalities relevant to patients with missing teeth, and reviewing strategies for patient management and treatment planning. |
| Additional information | 09:00 - 09:30: Registration The educational programme starts at 09:30. If driving, please allow plenty of time to find the venue and park your vehicle. Traffic in Southampton does not flow freely during the rush hour. The Education Suite is signposted by an abundance of notices from the Main Entrance. Refreshments will be available from 09:00; delegates are recommended to gather ample snacks and drinks to lubricate their time in the lecture room. The hospital car park fee for the day is £6.00. Payment may be made by cash or credit / debit cards. 09:30 – 12:30: Morning Session 12:30 – 13:30: Luncheon 13:30 – 16:30: Afternoon Session 16:30: Close There will be short refreshment breaks during both the morning and afternoon sessions. A hot luncheon will be served. A vegetarian option is usually provided, but if you have specific dietary needs - eg gluten or lactose free - please contact course organisers at least 24 hours before the course. |

| Aims | To course will focus on areas where delegates are expected to have knowledge and experience, and in particular treatment planning and modalities in patients with missing teeth. |
| Objectives | 1. To identify data relevant to formulating a treatment plant for patients with missing teeth. 2. To explain how to adapt a treatment plan to suit the patient and provide whole patient care. 3. To Identify cases that are outside the delegates skill set, allowing them to treat and/or refer appropriately. 4. To identify when to accept a missing tooth/teeth and when to restore an edentulous space. 5. To explain how to plan and design resin bonded bridgework. |
| Learning outcomes | Following this course, Learners should be able to: 1. List the factors which must be considered when considering whether to replace a missing tooth. 2. List patient centric factors acting as modifiers to the treatment plan, to establish a holistic care plan appropriate to the individual patient. 3. Name the factors which would establish the need for referral of a patient to a provider with enhanced skill set. 4. List relevant factors to consider when assessing whether or not to replace a missing tooth. 5. List the relevant factors to be considered in the assessment of teeth and edentulous ridges. |
