Aims

· To discuss various clinical dilemmas in the management of generalised and localised tooth wear cases.

· To develop evidence-based knowledge in the aetiology, classification and diagnosis of periodontal disease and peri-implantitis.

· To understand the essential principles in the assessment, classification, management of pulpitis and apical periodontitis.

Objectives

· To acknowledge the principles of the Dahl Concept in the management of localised tooth wear.

· To understand the implications of changing the Occlusal scheme in patients with tooth wear.

· To understand the clinical principles and applications of direct and indirect restorations in general dental practice.

· To understand the methods of non-surgical management of periodontitis and peri-implantitis.

· How to achieve effective outcome with root canal treatments in general dental practice.

Learning outcomes

· Be familiar with the principles of bonding direct composite restorations on different substrates.

· Be aware of the role of occlusal principles in the management of localized and generalized worn dentitions.

· Acknowledge the differences in the management of pulpitis, acute and chronic apical periodontitis.

· Learn about the differences between periodontitis and peri-implantitis and how to mange them in general dental parctice.
