The overall aim of this course is to provide up-to-date information and inform delegates on the current techniques for prevention with regards to tissue loss.

Objectives

1. To review the current thinking on tissue loss and sensitivity

2. To examine signs and symptoms of erosion, attrition and abrasion

3. To discuss preventative measures and treatments.

Learning outcomes

1. Summarise the key points relating to signs and symptoms of erosion, attrition and abrasion.

2. Describe how to prevent further tooth tissue loss and the preventive measures patients can take relating to tissue loss and sensitivity.

3. List topical medicaments and be able to advise on relieving sensitivity and esplain why it has occurred.

4. Determine and describe the causative factors of tooth tissue loss.
