| Availability | Course has taken place |
| Subject | Practice Management |
| Description | The cost of developing your staff is ever increasing. You need to keep good staff and win their loyalty to your practice in order to maximise your return on your investment In them. |
| Additional information | This workshop is designed to help delegates to understand why people go to work. It explores the drivers for different members of staff and how, as managers, we need to consider these factors when recruiting and managing staff. Workshop outline We open this workshop by looking at why people work. It is important to look at the risk and reward strategies which are adopted and how individuals all have their motives which may change with time and shifting circumstances. The morning sessions will concentrate on determining your style of management. How entrepreneurial are you and what are your values and goals for the practice? Does this have an affect on how you approach delegation of work to others? We use a series of exercises and questionnaires to highlight how common problems arise when it comes to valuing staff through delegation. In the afternoon we look at coaching techniques in management and test out theories with practical exercises. A further session helps delegates consider how much information about the practice and the aims and objectives of the owners should be communicated to employees. As a result of discussions we can establish best practice for internal practice communications. |
