It does not satisfy the IRMER requirement for dentists or radiography qualified Dental Care Professionals. It will also discuss and update on Oral Health Promotion messages, methods and products.

Sonia Jones RDH CFET, GDC number 5754, works as a Dental Hygienist in Torquay and Bristol and is a DCP Tutor for the South West Deanery, providing CPD to dental care professionals across the South of England. In addition, she teaches the National Diploma to Dental Nurses and is an Examiner for the NEBDN.

Aims
  1. Appreciate the principal components of the Ionising Radiations Regulations 1999 and Ionising Radiations (Medical Exposure) Regulations 2000
  2. Be able to protect patients and staff from unintended, excessive or incorrect exposures in dental radiology and ensure the consistent quality of radiographs
  3. Feel confident in oral health product updates and be able to promote good oral health techniques
  4. Be able to use dietary advice with patients and provide patients with correct oral health messages
