| Description | This session is aimed at the general dental practitioner, therapist and/or hygienist, focusing on areas where they are expected to have knowledge and expertise, especially diagnosis, treatment planning and non-surgical periodontal therapy. |
| Additional information | General dental practitioners, therapists and hygienists. Martin Ursell GDC 47762, served as a Dental Officer in the Royal Navy after qualifying from Leeds in 1974. He started teaching periodontics at Guys Dental School in 1979 and was awarded an MSc in periodontics in 1984. Martin has run a specialist periodontal practice in Southampton since 1984 and was a visiting lecturer at the Eastman Continuing Professional Development Department until 2011. He has extensive clinical experience and in postgraduate teaching and education. Richard Tucker GDC 66850, qualified from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa, in 1991. He then came to England and worked in private practice in Kent for 6 years. His first contact with the Eastman was through the Certificate Course in Restorative Dentistry in 1996, which led to him undertaking 3 years of specialist training at the Eastman Dental Institute. In 2003, he started a specialist referral practice in Wimpole Street, London, limited to periodontics and the surgical aspects of implant dentistry. Richard is a good communicator and enthuses about treating patients using evidence-based clinical expertise in a kind and empathetic manner. |
