SubjectRestorative
DescriptionA blended day with short lecture updates on current concepts in treatment planning, tooth preparation, impression technique, temporisation, try-in and cementation, approaches to managing tooth wear, the heavily restored dentition and fixed and removable reconstructions. Best practice in the preparation of crowns, bridges and veneers will be demonstrated and learners will then have the opportunity to prepare a variety of plastic teeth for full and partial coverage crowns, fixed & resin bonded bridgework and veneers. The hands-on part provides a 1:4 teaching ratio which facilitates feedback and support. This is a two part course and both parts must be attended. PLEASE NOTE the bur list which is specified in the "Additional Info" section. You will need to bring these to the two days. THESE ARE NOT SUPPLIED. Water, fruit and biscuits will be available, but food catering and hot drinks are not provided. You can bring your own, or a snack lunch and drinks may be purchased in the nearby main hospital building. We will start promptly at 09:00 each day, please allow ample time for your journey and parking, particularly if travelling across Slough from the M4. USE ENTRANCE 4! There is ample parking in the adjacent car park (£8 a day); Slough Station is about 20 minutes away by taxi, or about 30 minutes by local bus. The Postgraduate Centre is a low 60s style brown brick building, and is located 50m to the right when you use Entrance 4 (for the car park, drive straight ahead).
