Aims
  1. The objectives of this course are to provide information about: • The structure of the NHS in England • NHS General Dental Services Contract Regulations • National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidance
  2. •Be able to outline the current systems and structures of accountability and governance in the NHS in England, and the required performance standards
  3. • Oral Health Assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning • Record keeping – good practice guidelines.
  4. •Be able to summarise NICE guidance and apply it in everyday practice. •Be able to carry out an oral health assessment and produce a sequenced treatment plan •Be able to explain how to maintain appropriate clinical records in order to meet NHS contractual obligations and GDC requirements
