DescriptionThe aim of this course is to give DCTs a hands on simulation session to practise some basic restorative techniques, as well as advice on various aspects of working in general dental practice.

Reena Wadia
Reena qualified from Barts and The London with the prestigious Gold Medal as well as numerous other undergraduate dental awards. Following general practice, Reena worked as a Senior House Officer in both Restorative Dentistry and Oral Surgery. Currently, she is completing her part-time specialty training in Periodontology at Guy’s Hospital. She is also working in general practice at Harley Street Dental Group and Woodford Dental Care.
As well as being passionate about acquiring new knowledge, Reena has always encouraged and supported other young dentists by sharing any learning and experiences. To this end, she created her own blog (www.reenawadia.com) as a platform to communicate valuable information. Reena is also a part-time clinical tutor at Barts and The London, she regularly organises courses for newly qualified dentists and is on the editorial board for the ‘Dentistry’, ‘Dental Hygiene & Therapy’ and ‘Young Dentist’ magazines. She also endeavours to contribute to the profession through her position as a board member of the Faculty of General Dental Practice as well a committee member for the British Dental Association.

Aims
  1. Use phantom heads to work under indirect vision, using a hand piece , and complete a variety of tasks to include anterior and posterior restorations and a crown prep, with feedback from a experienced practitioner.
  2. To receive information from, and engage in discussion with, experienced GDPs about looking for a suitable post in general dental practice and future career opportunities in general practice.
