| Description | The days course ,with the aid of ‘ACTORS’, is to revisit GDC Standards for the Dental Team to include professtionalism and their responsibilties relating to consent and confidentiality. This will also promote the team approach to dealing with conflict and complaints. |
| Additional information | Course intended for: Dental Team. Adam Porter graduated from University of Wales College of Medicine in 2002 with a BSc in Dental Science and BDS in Dental Surgery. He has been providing courses in Communication Skills for Dentistry, Conflict Resolution in practice, Dealing with difficult patients, Ethical dilemnas in dentistry, and Dental Roleplay since 2006 mainly in Wales. He has extensive experience of acting in professional theatre productions, performing with companies such as Theatr Gwent, Hijinx Theatre and Bristol Old Vic as well as being a core member of Welsh theatre company, theatr peña. He is also experienced at delivering drama workshops. Adam writes for theatre and corporate workshops. With regards to our experiential training programmes, it is also of note that Adam Timms is a qualified dentist (real-name Adam Porter), who trained in Cardiff Dental School graduating in 2002. He did his vocational training in Cardiff and has since worked in NHS dental practice for eleven years, whilst pursuing his theatre career. He trained in using theatre as an educational tool at Gwent Theatre, Hijinx Theatre and with Theatr Forum Cymru. Healthcare Interact utilises Adam's drama training and knowledge of communication skills in clinical settings, to perform a variety of patient (and staff) scenarios for healthcare professionals. |
