Aims

To review aspects of adhesive dentistry and biometrics.

Generate a different diagnosis and treatment plan based on evidence through the correct interpretation of clinical findings.

Restore teeth to form, function and appearance using a GIC.

To be able to prepare adhesive gold and tooth coloured onlay preparations

Objectives

Determine patients dentofacial aesthetic requirements, identify the degree to which they can be met, discuss different options and manage patient expectations.

Understand which items fall within the NHS regulations and which do not.

Discuss consequences of this with the patient in a manner they can understand

Learning outcomes

Know which items of treatment fall within the NHS primary dental care regulations and which do not, and can discuss these with the patient in a manner he or she can understand.

Be able to increase patients awareness of understanding of treatment options and procedures by careful explanations and good communication skills.

Understand and demonstrate modern restorative concepts around minimal invasive techniques.

Be able to discuss the fee structure relating to treatment provided for patients in general practice.
