| Description | All members of the dental team must have a sound understanding of the theory behind medical emergency management so they can deal quickly with uncommon but potentially tragic events. This THEORY course meets the annual GDC requirements for CPD in medical emergencies and complements practical BLS training. |
| Additional information | This course is suitable for the entire practice team. Jon White is the Senior Resuscitation Officer for Milton Keynes Hospital. He works from the resuscitation training department at the postgraduate centre and has been responsible for the resuscitation training given to hospital staff. Jon has extensive knowledge of medical emergencies that occur in the dental surgery and has provided this course for local dentist and dental staff for many years now. Jon is currently secondered to Milton Keynes A & E department, gaining even more front line experience and knowledge. Amanda Wilson qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1996. Amanda began her career working as a surgical nurse for four years before moving on to work in an Intensive Care Unit until 2009. Since 2009 Amanda has worked as a Resuscitation Officer, and is a qualified ALS instructor at Milton Keynes Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, providing Advanced Life Support teaching to Trust staff. A particular interest of Amanda’s is post resuscitation care. Amanda adopts an informal approach to teaching, believing this learner centred approach is key to effective learning. |
