DescriptionThe Three C’s – Cancer, Cigarettes and Care 1.5 hours: This will be on Mouth Cancer Screening and Detection & Oral Mucosa Care for cancer patients and will involve some revision of the regional anatomy for all.
Additional informationWhen is a cigarette not a cigarette? 1.5 hours: This session will look at smoking cessation in general dental practice and review the latest guidelines on the use of NRT which encourages harm reduction in nicotine use.

This course is intended for Dental Care Professionals

Mrs Elaine Tilling qualified as a dental hygienist in the Royal Air force in 1982 and is currently Education and Project Manager for TePe UK Ltd, where she is involved with designing and implementing educational programmes for the dental profession and the general public.
An active member of the British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy she has held a number of roles on regional and national levels and is a serving member of the BSDHT publications committee. Elaine sits on the editorial board of The Primary Dental Journal, is a member of the British Dental Industry Association Training Committee and writes regularly for the dental press on a variety of subjects. Her wider interests within health promotion have led to the development of smoking cessation, and oral cancer awareness training for the dental teams which are delivered across the United Kingdom.
She is an active member of the pressure group Sustain who work to prevent inappropriate marketing of unhealthy foods to children.
