| Additional information | A study day with speakers of national and international standing, starting with a morning session focusing on a skill that we all employ on a daily basis – influencing, be it family friends, peers, colleagues or patients. There is a fantastic research base to support how we can make our daily lives more effective and easier by understanding some of the key principles of influencing and Fiona Dent is an internationally recognised academic specialising in the field. The afternoon session will then switch to a clinical focus with Ernest Wong giving us an insight into the world of Rheumatology as applied to the diseases we all see in our daily oral surgery practice. Simon Atkins will then close the day. He is an Academic Consultant in Oral Surgery at the University of Sheffield and is focused in both his research work and clinical practice on iatrogenic injury of the trigeminal nerve.
