DescriptionThis course will cover the principles of justification, optimisation and limitation to satisfy the IRMER requirement for radiography qualified staff. It also meets UK GDC verifiable CPD requirements in radiography and radiation protection.

Clare Wray is currently Superintendent Radiographer, Honorary Lecturer and RPS at Leeds Dental Institute, delivering clinical radiography education to dental, hygiene and therapy and dental nurse students. She has also been a serving member of the Territorial Army since 1999, presently holding the rank of Major as a Radiographic Technical Officer in a Field Hospital and has been on operational deployments to Iraq in 2003 and 2005 in this role. In 2005 she ran and set up protocols for the first UK CT Scanner deployed in the field. She qualified from Guy’s Hospital London in 1995, having trained at several hospitals in and around London. Following qualification she worked at hospitals in Pontefract, Bradford and Sheffield, gaining experience in general and angiography before specialising in CT, and now dental radiology. She also performs forensic radiography and is a member of IAFR and UKFRRT. Clare loves teaching, and especially making radiation safety training and physics relevant, interesting, practical and applicable to individuals.
