  1. To be able to assess occlusion and malocclusion for the purpose of carrying out interceptive treatment and onward referral at the appropriate developmental age.
  2. To recognise problems related to orthodontic treatment, relieve trauma, discomfort and arrange emergency repairs.
  3. To have appropriate understanding of how to use simple removable appliances. To understand facial growth and dental development. To understand the use of orthodontic indices.
