Mohammed is a Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon, who is a registered Specialist with the General Medical Council. He is dually qualified in both Dentistry and Medicine and has dual Fellowships in Dental Surgery and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. He qualified in1994 and since then has dedicated and limited his practice to Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Since completing his Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons in England in 1998, he has gone on to obtain his Medical Degree from Southampton University followed by his Board Intercollegiate Certification in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, granting him Consultancy in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.Mohammed has advanced his skills in dental implantology, facial deformity surgery and bone grafting skills while on a Fellowship to Brugge in Belgium. His training has taken him as far afield as Scotland, India and Belgium to finally settle in Portsmouth where his NHS Consultant practice includes all aspects of dento-alveolar surgery and oral medicine, facial deformity surgery, craniofacial trauma, oral & craniofacial implantology, salivary gland surgery and the management of skin cancer. At Specialist Dental, Mohammed’s role includes the surgical removal of difficult teeth to include wisdom teeth along with apical surgery (apicectomies). He also works in parallel with Dr Nada Al-Nahi and Dr Sohaib Safiullah preparing surgical sites with bone grafts and sinus lifts prior to the placement of implants. This can all be carried out under intra-venous sedation. He is happy to see patients concerned about facial skin lesions such as moles. He sees patients with jaw joint problems and any oral lesions and is a BUPA registered clinician, recognised by most insurance companies.Mohammed is heavily involved in undergraduate medical and dental training and has lectured widely both locally and nationally with numerous papers presented at international conferences. He also has numerous publications in peer reviewed journals

Aims
  1. Principles of ATLS and assessment of trauma pts. Assessment and management of facial fractures to include mandible, maxilla, zygoma and orbital floor.
  2. To gain hands-on experience in handling and adapting plates, and placement of plates using screws to fixate. Experience placing and removal of IMF
