DescriptionAll members of the dental team must have a strong awareness of how dementia can affect their patients and what they can do to help dementia sufferers and their carers to deal with problems of oral health. As dental tutors and advisers we need to be well versed in this area.

Rhonda Riachi has 20 years’ experience of managing events and publications, and 15 years’ experience of managing information technology for education, management and marketing with the Association for Learning Technology. In 2009 sheI successfully completed a training needs analysis for the Oxon & Bucks Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (now Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust).
Rhonda worked with the JISC SSBR team, supporting innovation projects across England in the lifelong learning sector, and evaluated the 2010 ELT Seminar Series for the Higher Education Academy.
Other recent clients include Oxford University Computing Services, where I evaluated Open Educational Resource (OER) projects under the OpenSpires programme. At Health Education Thames Valley I have been managing education projects in Midwifery and in the care of Older People

Aims

  4. To facilitate the learning and development of staff in delivering positive approaches to dementia care in the practice setting
