This course is intended for hygienists, therapists and dental nurses who are not radiography qualified.

Mrs Jo Russell (GDC 109492) has over 25 years experience in the Dental Profession, and has acquired expertise in all areas of business .She spent 7 years in the Dental branch of the Royal Navy.She started her own consultancy and training business in Portsmouth.Jo holds the Cert in Education and NEBOSH National Cert in Health & Safety.

Aims
  1. Know the principal components of the Ionising Radiations Regulations 1999 and Ionising Radiations (Medical Exposure) Regulations 2000.
  2. Have a fundamental understanding of radiation physics, radiobiology and radiation risks.
  3. Be able to protect patients and staff from unintended, excessive or incorrect exposures in dental radiology.
  4. Know how to ensure the consistent quality of radiographs.
  5. Discuss Legal & Ethical issues in relation to GDC guidlines. Understand the Complaints service and it’s role.Help prevent patients complaining in your practice.
