Specialist Endodontist
Rahul graduated from the University of Manchester in 1998, being awarded the Frank Sutcliffe Memorial Prize in Dentistry. After completing vocational training, he worked as a Senior House Officer in the Department of Orthodontics and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Kings Lynn. Rahul obtained his Membership in the Faculty of Dental Surgery from The Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2000.
Following a period in General Practice, Rahul undertook his specialist training in Endodontics at The Eastman Dental Institute, University College London. During this time he was awarded the Dentsply Maillefer Endodontic Prize for the highest clinical and academic achievement. In 2005 Rahul obtained his Membership in Restorative Dentistry (Endodontics) from The Royal College of Surgeons of England and went on to be registered as a “Specialist in Endodontics” with the General Dental Council. Rahul also worked as a part-time Honorary Lecturer in Endodontology at The Eastman Dental Hospital, and is currently a part-time Clinical Teaching Fellow at the Eastman Dental Institute.

Aims
  1. The foundation dentist can demonstrate to an appropriate standard the ability to: Crt7. Perform root canal treatment and retreatment on single and multi rooted teeth.
  2. Crt8. Recognise the indications for peri radicular surgery and where appropriate perform or refer the patient for specialised advice and / or treatment
  3. Crt12. Can isolate the tooth from saliva and bacterial contamination effectively and be competent in the use of rubber dam
  4. Crt 7 Can understand when referral is appropriate
