DescriptionThis course is a mixture of seminar and hands-on practical which gives all members of the dental team an opportunity to work with materials, including whitening materials and composites. Whilst trying to work within a range of abilities all delegates should gain a practical understanding and knowledge of options and methods of trying in at the design stage, techniques and likely outcomes for minimal intervention and conventional aesthetic restorative treatments. Whitening, trial stages, shade recording and determining the thickness of restorative material needed.
Additional informationWe will be teaching the most current aesthetic restorative techniques with the latest materials.
Composite direct, chairside and indirect techniques. You will try a new fast cavity-fill technique, 3 sec light cure great for replacing amalgam. For anterior teeth we cover aesthetics and tooth wear.

This course is intended for Dentists & DCP’s. Although not completely suited to, this course could be of interest to Dental Technicians who need to fulfil their CPD requirement and who would be most welcome.

Professor Millar is a well-known speaker on the national and international circuit and in the media. Qualifying in 1980 in Dundee, his background includes NHS and private practice before moving into university and hospital posts. His areas of special interest include aesthetics and occlusion in which he has over 150 publications. He is an experienced teacher to undergraduates and postgraduates and well-known provider of continuing development courses for dentists in the UK as well as running numerous hands-on courses around the world for CPD.

Dr Hussain is Senior Clinical Lecturer and Deputy Programme Director for the Blended Learning Fixed and Removable MClinDent degree at KCL Dental Institute and teaches on a number of KCL Masters programmes. She has delivered numerous lectures and hands-on courses on a wide range of topics including Tooth Wear, Occlusion, Gerodontology, Restoration of Broken and Cracked Teeth, Composites and Adhesives.
Since qualifying from Leeds Dental Institute in 1991 she has worked in both NHS Dental Services and the Private Sector and currently practices in Buckinghamshire. She has a special interest in minimal intervention aesthetic techniques, managing older patients with failing dentitions, treatment of patients with severe tooth wear and all aspects of complex prosthodontic treatment in practice.
