Aims
  1. Recognise, manage and provide emergency dental care. Identify prescribe and administer (where appropriate) pharmacological agents for the management of dental emergencies
  2. Diagnose and effectively manage common dental emergencies, including those resulting from treatment complications or failures, infection or trauma
  3. Recognise the need and provide care for dentofacial trauma patients requiring immediate attention quickly and effectively. Understanding the importance of team management of dental emergencies, and facilitating such an approach.
  4. Identify and refer with an appropriate degree of urgency, dental emergencies which are beyond his or her scope of management.
