DescriptionThe aim of this course is to provide information about: * The structure of the NHS in England * NHS General Dental Services Contract Regulations * National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidance * Oral Health Assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning * Record keeping - good practice guidelines. This course is one of a number of courses designed to provide an introduction to NHS dentistry and is essential for dentists who are undertaking FTE. This course is also suitable for dentists who are new to the NHS and dentists returning to NHS practice. Other dentists can book to attend if places remain available 14 days in advance of the course. Duncan McJarrow qualified Royal Dental Hospital 1985 BDS. He was a Dentist in General Dental Practice 1985 - 1990. From 1990 - 2009, he was a Dental Officer Royal Navy. During this time Duncan was a Vocational Trainer for 4 VTs. Duncan's final post in the Royal Navy was Senior Dental Surgeon at HMS Nelson as Surgeon Commander (D). He was a Dental Reference Officer NHS BSA from 2009 to 2010 and is now a Clinical Adviser NHS BSA. Richard Snoad BDS Dund MGDS RCS Edin FDS RCS Edin MSc Lond, GDC 54159 - Specialist in Periodontics, spent 10 years in general dental practice before joining the Royal Army Dental Corps, retiring from the Army in 2001 to become Head of Periodontics for ORA Dental Group, London.
