DescriptionIf you work in a clinical environment, the GDC recommends you carry out CPD in legal and ethical issues to make sure you are up to date. This course will explore the current legal and ethical issues facing the dental team and will consider appropriate responses to situations with probable legal or ethical repercussions.

Dr Stephanie Twidale TD BDS DGDP(UK), GDC 43715 is a part-time Dento-legal Adviser for Dental Protection, where she advises members on dento-legal issues, and also works as a Local Dental Adviser. She was until recently joint owner of an NHS practice in Gloucester, where she carried out some clinical sessions. She spent 10 years in Community Dentistry, and then opened two NHS practices in Oxfordshire. During that time she was a Vocational Trainer, and a member of the Dental Vocational Training Authority. After selling the practices, she joined the Dental Practice Board, where she was a Dental Reference Officer for 11 years. She then spent time working in prisons and Access Centres, providing clinical governance advice to a group of NHS practices, and as a postgraduate dental tutor. Stephanie was a Dental Officer in the Territorial Army for 21 years, serving in Iraq, Germany and Cyprus.
