This is a wonderful opportunity to meet the Consultant in your local area and have the opportunity to take part in the forum at end of each lecture.

The aims of this core study day are that you will be updated on the aetiology and treatments of Oral Cancer. Understand that after cancer surgery there are many challenges for the team and patient, in both further treatments and ongoing support, to enable the patient to get back to 'normal' Life. This is an opportunity to meet your local team of specialists, and have your questions answered in a friendly forum.

This course is relevant to the Clinical Team - Dentists and DCP’s (not suitable for Student Dental Nurses).

Mr. ‘Kunmi Fasanmade MBBS,BDS, FDSRCS,MRCS,FRCS (OMFS) GDC No. 116847
Mr. Kunmi Fasanmade is a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, and is the visiting Consultant to Buckinghamshire Hospitals NHS Trust, and also Horton General Hospital Banbury. His NHS practice is centred on his special interest areas of Head and Neck Oncology, Salivary Gland Surgery and Facial Trauma.

Alyson Moss
Smoking Cessation Co-ordinator – Alyson co-ordinates our local team in providing information and training on smoking cessation. She is part of the team who support the very successful NHS smoking cessation group. She is passionate about her work and is keen to share her knowledge and training to assist Dental Professionals in their role of supporting patients to stop smoking, and reduce their risk of oral cancer.

Dr Sandip Popat
Sandip Popat qualified from University College Hospital in 1991. He was awarded a Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons in 1998 and undertook specialist training in prosthodontics (crowns, bridges, dentures and implants) at the Eastman Dental Institute in London. He went on to gain his membership in Restorative Dentistry and is now a Consultant at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
Sandip is currently the restorative lead for the Spires Cleft Lip and Palate Centre, and is also part of the multi-disciplinary head and neck cancer team. His other interests include the oral rehabilitation of patients with severe hypodontia and toothwear. Sandip also runs a busy specialist referral private practice. He has lectured extensively, both nationally and internationally. He is also a post-graduate examiner for the Faculty
