DescriptionAn initial presentation on indications and techniques for pre-restorative surgery is followed by a practical session on pigs’ jaws, incorporating the surgical techniques learned and practiced during Module 5. This is followed by an extensive presentation of treated human cases .The afternoon session is devoted to periodontal plastic surgery, combining the theory and practice (again on pigs’ jaws) of grafting techniques, including free gingival grafts and connective tissue grafts.
Additional informationPigs’ jaws are supplied but not surgical equipment, which must be brought by each participant (see equipment list).

The course should enable participants to:

• Carry out simple crown lengthening procedures
• Use pre-restorative surgery in complex restorative cases
• Discuss the benefits of periodontal plastic surgery with patients
• Carry out simple root coverage procedures.
This course is intended for GDPs.
