DescriptionThis course will cover: • Interpersonal skills and how to work co-operatively with others • Professionalism • GDC Standards for the Dental Team • Current legal and ethical issues facing the dental team and how dentists are monitored • Raising concerns • Complaints handling. This course is one of a number of courses designed to provide an introduction to NHS dentistry and is essential for dentists who are undertaking Vocational Training by Assessment. This course is also suitable for dentists who are new to the NHS and dentists returning to NHS practice. Other dentists can book to attend if places remain available 14 days in advance of the course. Dr Stephen Henderson LLM BDS, GDC 59163 is a full-time Senior Dento-Legal Adviser for Dental Protection and a Specialist in Oral Surgery. He had 5 years full-time experience in hospital dentistry, followed by 11 years part-time (oral and maxillofacial surgery) and continues to work part-time in practice. Stephen has more than 20 years experience in general dental and oral surgery referral practice and was Chairman Oxfordshire LDC between 1995 and 2003. He regularly lectures on oral surgery and dento-legal issues and currently follows the activities of the GDC and CHRE on behalf of Dental Protection. Stephen is also DPL’s Deputy Lead for members in Hong Kong.
