Periodontal Care Module 2 - Treatment Planning (BA290413)

AvailabilityCourse has taken place
SubjectPeriodontics
DescriptionIt is envisaged that participants will attend all relevant (depending on clinical practice) modules of the Periodontal series (up to 6 parts); this is desirable but not essential.
Additional informationModule 2 will recap on Module 1, (Assessment and Diagnosis), followed by a series of mini presentations interspersed with discussions on case histories and short practical sessions. Topics in Module 2 will include a logical approach to periodontal treatment planning, the importance of self–performed plaque control and how to motivate patients to clean better. There will be practical sessions on the best oral hygiene methods to use - be prepared to clean your own teeth - and clinical photography demystified – it is inexpensive and easy. We will then discuss the stages and timing of rational periodontal treatment planning as well as the range of treatment options available, using our Treatment Options Flowchart, developed over a number of years.

This course should enable participants to:
• Instruct patients in oral hygiene effectively
• Take high quality clinical images
• Treatment plan periodontal care logically
• Discuss periodontal care with patients confidently.
