| Description | Since dentistry is a unique occupation in many ways, advice on back pain has to take into account the highly specific nature of the job, and the demands which it places on the spine and this course offers a wide range of ideas and practical elements aimed at managing and preventing back pain, including the following; • How to stretch and strengthen the spine • What to do with tight muscles • Treatment options – what works best? • Seating options • Ergonomic factors • Useful clinical anatomy • Common causes of back pain • Latest clinical evidence on back pain investigation and management Gerry qualified as a dentist in Dundee, and has over 20 years of wide experience of general practice, hospital and community dental services. Gerry studied at the British School of Osteopathy, to pursue a lifelong interest in sports and musculoskeletal injuries, qualifying with a BSc (Hons) in Osteopathy in 1998. Since 2001, Gerry has worked as an Osteopath at the University of Bristol Sports Medicine Clinic.
