| Additional information | Why do dentists get back pain? Is it all about bad posture? Back pain is a complex and multifactorial problem, and therefore multiple solutions are required. This course offers a wide range of ideas aimed at managing and preventing back pain. This a practical course that will use a mixture of lecture, demonstration, interactive practical (and humour!) to illustrate key points and keep you focused. This course is for dentists. Gerry Gallacher is a dual qualified dentist and osteopath. He is uniquely placed to understand the highly specific nature of our job and the demands which it places on the spine, and to give advice on back pain He qualified as a dentist in Dundee, and has over 20 years of wide experience of general practice, hospital and community dental services. Gerry studied at the British School of Osteopathy, to pursue a lifelong interest in sports and musculoskeletal injuries, qualifying with a BSc (Hons) in Osteopathy in 1998. Since 2001, Gerry has worked as an Osteopath at the University of Bristol Sports Medicine Clinic. Gerry Gallacher is a dual qualified dentist and osteopath.
