DescriptionThe morning intends to provide discussion around the reasons why complaints can lead to so many adverse outcomes and how to best deal with them to reduce the risk to dental practices.
Additional informationthe afternoon seminars will update dental team members on the current rules, regulations and ethics of consent and confidentiality to enable dental teams to practise safely.
Brian Westbury is an experienced general dental practitioner who has worked in both the Health Service and Private sectors.
He has served on most of the important National and local dental committees and is currently a member of the Dentists’ Health Support Trust. He has worked for the last few years as a senior-dentolegal advisor at Dental Protection Ltd dealing with UK and international cases. He is the Coordinator for DPL’s Risk Partnership Programme.
He lectures to students, practitioners and Health Authorities, both in the UK and abroad on dento-legal and risk management subjects. He has a wide knowledge of the regulations both of the NHS and the GDC and especially for disciplinary procedures. He has for several years provided short courses for dentists coming into the UK for the first time.
Brian has degrees in dentistry, psychology, and law.
