DescriptionThe course will cover three specific areas: • Legal and ethical issues • Complaints handling • Basic radiography (N.B. This section is not the IRMER training for people who take x-rays, but will count towards the 5 GDC compulsory hours for DCPs who do not take x-rays). The course will ensure that DCPs understand their own responsibilities and the consequences of not following legislation; it is a DCP’s own responsibility to ensure that they are adhering to legal and ethical issues. It will cover how to handle complaints effectively, the correct procedures, guidelines and requirements. In addition, our speaker will provide information about basic dental radiography techniques, quality assurance and radiation safety, including the DCP’s role and responsibilities regarding equipment and films. All DCPs – Dental Nurses, Therapists, Hygienists, Technicians.
